Fourth bottling

Tamnavulin – 13y

57.6% – Cask Strength – 263 Bottles – Non Chillfiltered

Description

Distilled in 2009 and matured for 13 years, this Tamnavulin single malt was bottled by Sherwoods at a natural cask strength of 57.6%. Drawn from a single refill American oak cask, just 263 bottles were produced.

Tamnavulin—Gaelic for ‘the mill on the hill’—was established in 1966 along the banks of the River Livet, drawing its water from the limestone-filtered Easterton Spring. Following a period of closure from 1995, the distillery reopened in 2007.

Famous for its light and fruity character, Tamnavulin uses specialized purifiers on its spirit stills to capture only the lightest vapours. Maturation in a refill American oak cask allows this delicate distillery profile to shine, adding soft vanilla notes while keeping the fresh orchard fruit at the forefront.

Tasting Notes

  • Nose: Fresh meadow flowers, crisp green apple, ripe pear, and a touch of subtle vanilla.

  • Palate: Smooth, elegant, and layered. Juicy orchard fruit and liquid honey are finely balanced with a subtle oak sweetness.

  • Finish: Clean, fresh, and fruity. An approachable Speyside single malt that remains remarkably soft despite its high strength.
